answers
01
Getting Started
How do I sign up?+−
Sign up with your Google account. Once you're in, install the hearted. browser extension — it's what syncs your liked songs.
What Spotify data do you access?+−
Your music library and basic profile info — mostly to display on your hearted. profile. Permission to add songs to your playlists is also requested, but only used when you ask.
Does Hearted change my playlists?+−
Only when you explicitly ask. When you match a song to a playlist, you tap the button. Tracks are never added, removed, or reordered on your behalf — every change is your choice.
02
Platforms & Integrations
Why only Spotify (for now)?+−
Spotify is the most used platform, and therefore where most Liked Songs libraries exist. Soon, Last.fm will also be able to be linked to your account. Other music platforms might be implemented if there's enough people showing interest.
03
How It Works
How does song analysis work?+−
hearted. reads lyrics and examines audio characteristics, then uses language models (AI) to offer an interpretation. It's a machine making sense of something deeply human — think of it as possibilities to explore, not answers set in stone.
How does playlist matching work?+−
A profile is built for each playlist based on the description you give it and the songs already in it. Then your liked songs are compared to find where they'd naturally fit.
04
Pricing
Is Hearted free?+−
There's a free tier: 15 songs to get a feel for what hearted. is about. Sadly, running the service has real costs that can grow quickly depending on library size.
How does pricing work after the free songs?+−
Song packs give you 500 songs to explore for $5.99, with 25 of your most recent likes ready to go as a bonus for your support. Or go unlimited with the Backstage Pass ($39.99/yr) and explore your whole library. Every song you explore stays yours forever.
What's included in the Backstage Pass?+−
Unlimited song exploration and matching across your whole library, with priority processing so things move faster. Plus a direct line to shape where hearted. goes next. It's for people who want to support the project and get the most out of their library.
05
Account
Can I delete my account?+−
Yes, anytime. All your personal data goes with it.
